SEVEN WAYPOINTS

We do not believe in dogma or a singular teaching, practice, or belief about the best way to be embodied, present, active in the here and now, or engaged with a path of transmutation or transformation. Instead, we are committed to cultivating a grounded and open-minded approach that welcomes diversity and infinite transformative possibilities — both old and new — based in the transpersonal, spiritual, psychological, somatic, artistic, or scientific.

We Touch The Earth is a living experiment that will actively change and flow as it evolves. But as a baseline, we believe these waypoints are a foundational starting point.

Presence

Many of us hear an inner call beckoning us toward presence—a call to wake up to the deeper waters within that's found in the here and now. Presence guides us along our spiritual path, helping us find our own unique way.

Embodiment

Embodiment is in direct relationship with presence. When we are genuinely embodied, we are in present time. Any modality that facilitates embodiment, whether it be yoga, movement, meditation, or dance, gently ushers us back into our bodies. We honor the wisdom embedded within embodiment practices and seek to offer space to cultivate a relationship and a line of communication with the profound wisdom that the body has to offer.

Creation

We believe that Creativity is our birthright and that it's time to honor the imagination and wisdom of our hearts. It is within the exploration and cultivation of our imagination that we can truly see and embody the call of our deeper well. In these deep waters, we find authentic expression and birth the seeds of change that have the potential to grow into something beyond the boundaries of our intellect.

Insight

We get quiet and listen, and we create the space for insight.  From this birth canal, we open a portal to the deep knowing created from our inner sight. Insight can arrive through meditation when we get quiet and still enough to open the gate of our inner realm (3rd eye). Insight might arrive when we listen to someone else’s story and recognize the universality of human suffering. Insight might come when our heart alchemizes a vulnerable experience, allowing us to give voice to a truth that had been deeply buried. Insight might arrive spontaneously through the body, releasing something it had been holding. Insight is the wisdom that comes through us when our embodied heart is receptive and open enough for it to arrive and guide us forward.

Connection

It’s time to come home to ourselves and to each other. We are in dire need of community spaces that foster connection and the remembrance that what we truly long for is right in front of us: being held by our community during times of sorrow, comforting meals in the morning, dreams in the evening, stories from our wise elders, intimacy with the natural world, play with our children and loved ones. Let us learn to think and act like a village again: to bear witness and be witnessed. To hold up and be held up. To remember that we belong to each other.

Compassion

Compassion is the medicine. It’s only when we can do this for ourselves that we are able to extend the same to others. The work is about opening and softening the heart so that, over time, it can include all of our experiences without shutting down. An open, compassionate heart tends the soil for true peace in our lives and in the world.

Joy

We Touch the Earth is a place to rejoice and celebrate all we have been given. The temporariness of all things calls us to awaken to the preciousness and beauty right in front of us. With grief in one hand and gratitude in the other hand, we can learn to hold both simultaneously and be present with the rays of joy that can be found in our connected, compassionate hearts.
